Duluth, Minn. — More than 1.6 million U.S. troops have deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001. The Defense Department estimates that up to 20 percent of them suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or major depression. The "thousand-yard stare," shell shock, combat fatigue.
